How we test what we sell
Before a piece of furniture reaches the Shop page, it goes through cycle testing on joints, drawer glides and upholstery seams to confirm it holds up to daily use, not just a showroom photo. Weight ratings listed in each product's specifications reflect the results of that testing, not a manufacturer estimate we've copied over.
Lighting products are checked for wiring safety and heat output under continuous use, and every listed dimension is measured directly rather than pulled from a spec sheet we haven't verified ourselves.
OEKO-TEX and textile sourcing
Our bedding — duvet sets, sheets, pillows and throws — is manufactured by mills that hold OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certification, meaning the finished textile has been independently tested for a defined list of substances that shouldn't be present in something you sleep on.
We list thread count and fiber content plainly on each product page. If a blend changes between production runs, we update the listing rather than leaving outdated specifications live.
FTC compliance & ethical sourcing
UltimateShop follows FTC guidance on truthful advertising and clear material disclosure: we do not use vague terms like "eco-friendly" or "premium" without a specific, verifiable claim behind them. Where a product is described as solid wood, it is solid wood — not a veneer over particleboard — and we say so explicitly when a veneer is used instead.
We work directly with manufacturers who can provide documentation on labor practices and material origin, and we decline to list products from suppliers who won't share that information.
